This historic film strip showing the organisation of Air Traffic Control was produced by the Victorian Education Department's Visual Education Branch in 1956.
The original of this film strip is held in the archives of the Civil Aviation Historical Society.

The photo above shows DCA's newest Control Tower at the time: Melbourne/Essendon's third (and present c.2005) Tower. This Tower was opened in 1956 in time for the Melbourne Olympic Games. The Tower is framed by a Lockheed 749 Constellation, the giant airliner of its day.
