The shot above of DC-3 VH-ASD was probably taken at De Havilland Australia's plant at Sydney/Bankstown in the mid-1950s. Although the fuselage is devoid of titling, on the original print underneath the DCA logo on the fin can just be made out 'Unit No 1'. Similar lettering, though unreadable, can be made out on the fins of the other DCA DC-3s in photos taken around the same time. No doubt each was assigned a number.
