DCA 'Wings' Logo

DCA wings logo

Over the years the Department of Civil Aviation used several different logos, mostly variations on a theme. By far the best known and most widely used was this 'wings' logo, adopted in about the mid-1950s and used until the Department was re-structured in 1973. The colour version was produced on a transfer, to be applied to Departmental vehicles. The more common black and white version below was used on documents, for example see this logo on the cover of the 1961-62 Annual Report.

One place this logo did not appear was on the Departmental fleet of aircraft, since the Flying Unit had its own badge.
