Film Night at the Airways Museum


Historical aviation films from the Civil Aviation Historical Society's archive will be shown in our first Film Night for 2011 at the Airways Museum.

Song of the Clouds
: A 1960 survey of aviation in the USA. Similar to our second film, but from the USA perspective and two years earlier. Great shots of all the big passenger airliners and companies.

Safety is No Accident: A 1962 survey of aviation in Australia and the contribution made by the Department of Civil Aviation to air safety. Starts with Essendon. Shows all extant passenger aircraft of the time. 30 mins, colour, 1962

Mystery Film

Engine Fire in Flight A VERY British film. Shows quality shots of several obsolete and uncommon Second World War aircraft, used for showing the effects of engine fire control. Very droll acting and is worth seeing just for that!
