Concorde and Australia is the theme of a new photographic exhibition to be unveiled at the 2014 Open Day at the Airways Museum on Saturday 12 November 2016. The exhibition will be on display for one year.

In the 1960s the prospect of supersonic passenger transports offered the potential to dramatically reduce the time required for Australian's to connect with the rest of the world. That hope foundered on the problems of the supersonic boom and the dramatic rise in the price of fuel with the World Oil Crisis of 1973. The exhibition covers plans for Qantas to acquire Concordes, preparations by the Department of Civil Aviation for Concorde operations in Australia, proving trials by the second prototype and a production aircraft, and visits to Australia by Concorde in service.
