This is a clip from the 1966 DCA movie The Stripmakers and shows a convoy made up of 1 & 2 MMUs leaving Adelaide/West Beach for Roper Bar, NT. The MMUs had been to Melbourne/Essendon to pick up new vehicles and called in Adelaide to pick up their plant and stores for the long trip north. The film follows their journey and subsequent work creating a new airstrip at Roper Bar.
