Avro 652A Anson I VH-CAK

 

Built A V Roe & Co, Newton Heath, Avro 652A Anson I VH-CAK was taken on RAAF charge as W2558 in October 1941.

After the war the aircraft was purchased by the DCA and converted for civil use. It was added to the register as VH-CAK on 10 February 1950.

The aircraft was initially based at Perth/Maylands before moving to Perth/Guildford and is recorded as having been bogged at De Rose Hill airstrip, WA, on 3 September 1953. It is seen here in 1954 at Perth/Guildford.

The aircraft’s Certificate of Airworthiness expired on 18 Nov 1959 and was not renewed. It was recorded as withdrawn from use on 4 May 1960 and burnt for fire practice at Perth Airport (Guildford) later that year.
