Film Night at the Airways Museum


Historical aviation films from the Civil Aviation Historical Society's archive will be shown in our first Film Night for 2007 at the Airways Museum.

What time? Museum open from 6.30pm, films start 7.30pm
What films?


1. Approach to Land - GCA (1952) B&W, 21min.

Follow a Viscount on a Ground Controlled Approach and learn about how the GCA system operated.


2. Approach to Land - ILS
(1956) B&W, 20 min.

The use of the Instrument Landing System is demonstrated by a Douglas DC-6. Also footage of other 1950s airliners.


3. Aircraft at Essendon
(c.1970) Colour, 10 min.

Silent film showing colour footage of various aircraft at Melbourne's Essendon Airport.
