Historical aviation films from the Civil Aviation Historical Society's archive will be shown in our last Film Night for 2010 at the Airways Museum.

An Object Lesson in Fire Prevention
Shows the result of a welding torch-initiated fire that burned to the ground a U.S. Naval repair depot. Good commonsense film with lots of engine overhaul procedures and many Naval aircraft. B+W, 18 min.

Birdstrike About the birdstrike problem and solutions in the UK, particularly at Heathrow and RAF bases. Civil and Military jets and many bird types! Colour, 23 min, 1974.

Mystery Film

Flypast – Eastside Story 50 Years of the Royal Air Force. Interviews with four distinguished pilots including Capt W.E. Johns (creator of 'Biggles'). B+W, 15 min.
