Lockheed Model 18 Lodestar A67-2

The third of the trio of Lockheed Lodestars acquired by the Department of Civil Aviation from the RAAF in 1947 and trucked to Parafield, SA, A67-2 never actually flew in civil service but was instead used as a source of parts for the other two Lodestars operated by the Department (VH-CAB & VH-CAC). It was built as a C-60-5-LO, USAAC serial 42-56042. The registration VH-CAA was said to have been allocated to this aircraft, however at the time VH-CAA was listed as a prohibited marking. The aircraft is seen here rather worse for wear at Parafield in 1951 shortly before it was scrapped.
